Aug 7th, 2007 by Anthony

Are none of your posts ever getting Dugg or doing to rounds on the Social Networks?
Did you know that using a few simple steps, you can pimp your post and make it perfect material to be Dugg! So take one your drab posts and pimp it up with:
1. A Super Catchy Headline
Don’t just use a title to describe a post. Pimp it up using catchy keywords that draw the reader in. The trick is to make the reader want to read the post just by looking at the headline. But don’t be a fool and use someone else’s headline - its up to you to be creative. If youre stuck for ideas check out CopyBlogger’s, 10 Sure-Fire Headline Formulas.
2. Share the Love
Readers love information in fact they crave it! The more resources include in a post the better. So share the love and link to related articles that expand on your ideas. And don’t forget to link to any sites that you talk about in a post. And hey, the more love you the more love you’re going get back.
3. Listifye It
Browse through Digg.com for a few minutes and I will guarantee that you will find a list of some kind. For some reason, Lists just make killer posts and whats more, Digg loves them. You would be suprised just home many of your posts could be turned into a list. By creating a list you break up the content and offer lots of whitespace which just happens to be just what readers want.
4. Go Crazy for Color
Black and White is just so….blog like! Why not stand out from the crowd and include a catchy image as part of your post. And no I don’t mean a picture of a cat dressed up in clothes, I mean a pic that actually relates to your post. You would be surprise just how effectively a picture can be used to draw attention to the post.
5. Safety in Numbers
Dude, your 100 post isn’t going to cut it. No one expect for you is going to submit your 100 post to Digg. You are going to have to “expand” and actually make it look like a valuable resource. The truth is your 100 word post could be better quality than a 500 word post, but people will instantly assume the 800 word post has more information. So the sad truth is you’re just going have to write while not babbling on. Writing is an art!
So there are 5 ways to take an ordinary post, pimp it and make it Diggable. And BTW, take a look at this post and you may find that I have used all of these techniques.

Nice tips, I would add to not just make the post a list, but to make it scan-able, by using subtitles and making the numbers be in bold.
Thanks Matt for the tip. I was going to go back and add bold titles for this post but I have been having a few problems with this blog not working recently
