6 Weekend Blogging Tasks
Aug 4th, 2007 by Anthony
I always find it difficult to write on the weekend. I am always occupied with something else and for some reasons my creative juices don’t flow on the weekend.
But that doesn’t mean you should just stop blogging all together - as there are plenty of other things you could be doing. Here is my list.
- Comment Like Crazy - you may had the time to comment on other blogs during the week so take this time to revisit your fav blogs and post a few comments.
- Try and Write One Post - Although your blog traffic will die down over the weekend, its a good idea to write at least one post. Don’t post a “Pillar” article, instead you could post something a little off topic to give your readers a break.
- Plan Ahead - If you’re a pro blogger wanna be, you will probably have set yourself some goals. Take time this weekend to review your goals and write yourself a to-do list for the coming week
- Research - Find as many blogs as you can related to yours and read and read and read. The more research you do the better posts you will write. During this time, I also write down a list of possible posts I would like to write based on the research I have done
- Write an “Emergency” Post - You never what might happen over the coming week. So to prepare yourself for the unknown, write a backup post that you can quickly publish if you find yourself unable to write.
- Promote - Nows the time to promote your blog and plan any upcoming advertising campaigns. And why not promote your blog in blogging related forums such as DoshTalk (yes that was a shameless plug).

Hi Anthony
Thanks for the post. First off, I’m practicing number (1) right now. Second, I like the idea of planning ahead. I have several draft posts on the boil at any one time, which I can add to over the week, ready to post the next week.
I also like the idea of an “emergency” post - I’d never really thought of that before, but it’s a great idea. Cheers!

I like #5, My buddy, Josh, had ten articles written before he launched so he didn’t have to worry about pumping out posts. Great advice and thanks!
[…] Now obvisouly, posting on a regular basis doesn’t seem very hard, and that is true for new bloggers. But you will as you go on and your blog becomes older, it also becomes harder to keep up a regular posting frequency. So its a good idea to keep some backup posts handy just in case you receive a case of the bloggers block or are too busy to post one day. I write my backup posts on the weekend as part of my Weekend Blogging Tasks […]
