Make Money Selling Invites
Jul 19th, 2007 by Anthony
Ha Ha Ha (after my last hangover post, this really lightened my mood).
I was on ebay just ebaying around when I found someone selling invites to a new web 2.0 startup - Pownce. In fact a number of people are selling these invites and the funniest bit is, people are actually buying them.
Pownce has definitely been a buzz word recently and I’ve been tracking the company since launch for a tech blog I contribute to. I was lucky enough to be able to register with Pownce quite early on and so I’ve got 6 invites in my account.
If I wanted to be evil I could send these invites to myself and register another 6 accounts and then I would have 36 invites to sell or invite myself again….and again. Although this could be against there TOS and im really not that sad.
If you’re feeling really entrepreneurial you could use these 36 invites to create accounts with really cool usernames while they are still available and auction them off on Ebay when and if Pownce becomes crowded.
Well im not going to sell my invites so 6 are up for grabs - let me know if you want one.

Selling invites is probably against their T.O.S. but people do it anyway. It is the same with any new popular startup which has an invite-only basis (I remember seeing Joost and Moola invites on ebay before). There is this new site which I blogged about called inviteshare (inviteshare.com), which actually allows people to share invites to numerous different sites, including pownce.
If you still have any left, I would love to have an invite. I just recently heard about Pownce, and I’d like to get a closer look.
Thanks!
